Clee AC See County Team Through to Birmingham
In the Regional Sportshall Finals at Halifax last Sunday the Under 15 Girls team took first place to qualify for the National Finals, usually held in the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham. This is a great result which is the result of many years hard work and enthusiasm by the Humberside team managers over the years and a special word of acknowledgement is due to the unceasing commitment of Margaret Saville. The team of 6 plays in an all-rounder competition with each athlete taking part in 3 events plus relays. Three of the team were from Cleethorpes namely Rachel Bell, Casey Barber and Amelia Walton and all three won individual medals. Rachel was 2nd in the 4 Lap race and the Speed Bounce and 3rd in the Standing Long Jump. Amelia came 3rd. in the Vertical Jump and Casey 2nd. in the 2 lap race. By also winning both the 4 x 2 relay and the 8 Lap Paarlauf success was assured along with First Place overall confining the strong West Yorkshire team to Second place. The Under 15 Boys which included Kyle Catmull, Harry Stewart, Matthew Blake and Jo Boyd from our Club came 3rd overall with a good team effort with Kyle Catmull gaining the 3rd place medal in the Speed Bounce.
